IATF 16949:2016 – CERTIFICATION
The IATF 16949 technical specification, along with standard ISO 9001:2015, defines the fundamental requirements of the quality management system for design, development, production and, if pertinent, the installation and assistance of every product in the automotive industry.
Developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), the IATF 16949 technical specification is fully applied around the world and is requested by all Western manufacturers.
The IATF 16949 technical specification can be applied to the entire automotive industry supply chain, including the sites of organizations where vehicles or components are manufactured or treatment and finishing services are provided.
The supporting functions – such as design centers, central management and distribution centers – that support the site, are included in the site audit, but cannot obtain separate certification according to this technical specification.
